TEATROSHORTS 2009
Another great success for the Second edition of Teatroshorts, the
Festival of short Theatre plays, organised by our friends of Italian
Nights.
This
edition, for the second year running, was held at the prestigious
RADA premises, in Bloomsbury. And a very fine event it was, with
many people attending and casting their vote for the best play of
the night.
This year we had two ex aequo winners, Florilegio,
with Gone with the win, and Antonio Mancino with
Brigante.
|
See
below what was on offer:
 |
Gelato,
by Verity Richards. An English family spending the summer in sunny
Chiantishire. Trouble is brewing, obviously, but not where you'd expect.
|
 |
Gone
With the Wind - Redux, by Florilegio Arts Factory. It has
already been done with Shakespeare, yes. But why not take abridgment
to the next level? |
 |
Regardless,
by Storm Factory. A blacker-than-black comedy set among self-centred
London metrosexuals suddenly faced with an unpleasant predicament. |
 |
Past,
Present and Future of the Bicycle, by Delia Giubeli. Multimedia
storytelling on a heroic scale, spanning centuries as well as perspectives. |
 |
Anton
in Showbusiness, by Jane Martin. Played by three Italian
actresses, the opening scene of Jane Martin's award-winning 2001 comedy,
depicting the audition for a production of Chekhov's Three Sisters. |
 |
Brigante,
by Antonio Mancino. A passionate monologue (NB - in Italian) that
shows Garibaldi's daring endeavour to liberate southern Italy in a
new light. |
